Anthem

Anthem is a series of sketches for a sound and performance installation, born of a week-long laboratory process. They are part of an ongoing investigation into the relationships between movement, sculpture, and amplified sound. The work emerges from explorations into the ‘anthem’ as a proposition that is at once sonic and embodied. Beyond associations of allegiance, resistance,  and collective participation, these sketches also consider other anthemic possibilities—from spontaneous hymns to private utterances to solitary march songs.
